Three Agri-Food Businesses from the Mid and East Antrim Food and Drink Network have been successful in securing Innovation vouchers in the latest application call from Invest NI. The businesses have each secured £5,000 funding to work with an expert Knowledge provider from the Foodovation Centre in the North West Regional College. The Innovation Vouchers will support the businesses to develop new and improved products.

The Invest NI Innovation Voucher Scheme; is designed to help small and medium sized businesses to work with an expert knowledge provider from a University, College or other Public Sector Research Body in order to develop forward-thinking solutions, ideas to expand and improve or create new products, services and processes.

A best practice visit facilitated by the Mid and East Antrim Food and Drink Network to the Foodovation centre; enabled the three businesses Born n Raised Waffles, The Creamery Can and The Irish Seaweed Company to gain an insight to how the vouchers could be used to grow and develop their business.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Head of Economic Development, Ursula O’Loughlin says “We have a clear focus on the growth of the agri-food sector, a key priority of Amplify, the Integrated Economic Development Strategy for Mid and East Antrim.
