The Food and Drink Network Story to Date:

The initiative established in September 2017 has brought together local producers in Mid and East Antrim for the first time.  During the course of the initiative Council supported producers to showcase their produce regionally at key events in Northern Ireland including; BBC Good Food Show NI 2017, Ifex Belfast 2018 and Balmoral Show 2018.

Producers have also come together through a series of workshops on BREXIT planning, Food Trends and Innovations, Selling Skills and Product Development.  Each seminar featured high profile guest speakers including Chef Brian McDermott and Food NI Consultant Paul Burch.  The workshops have inspired innovation, and encouraged collaboration and networking across the industry for the businesses.

Charles Campion, Masterchef Judge and prominent food writer, restaurant critic and consultant visited the Borough to learn about the food and drink network.  Charles visited local agri-food producers and presented a workshop providing an overview of the trends in the food sector both locally and internationally.
